Halfway Choir – New Opportunities

Joyful Choir

In order to allow more people to participate in the Halfway Choir, we are excited to offer short term choir opportunities throughout the year.  Choir opportunities will vary in time, length, and commitment.  Some opportunities may be for a season, like Christmas or Easter, and some may be only for one or two rehearsals.  Choir opportunities will also vary in participants.  Some may be mixed choir, some may be women’s choir, and some may be multigenerational–open to all ages.  Some may be instrumental or mixed vocal and instrumental opportunities.  Skill level will also vary so that even those with no choir experience will feel comfortable participating.  You can choose to participate in just one opportunity or all of them- it is completely up to you!  We hope that this new program will allow more people to share their musical gifts with Halfway Creek Lutheran.

Lost and Found Concert – June 12

6 pm – Come early, bring a picnic lunch – Follow the “Walk the Word” trail to encounter our assembly theme

7 pm – Concert; have your blanket or chairs set up near bandshell for this FREE open-to-the-public concert

Rain venue – La Crosse Central High School, 1801 Losey Blvd., auditorium.

Sunday School Singing and Nonperishable Food Items

Notes

The Sunday school children will be singing at the 10:30 am service this Sunday and at the Dedication Service at 10:30 am on May 31st.  We look forward to hearing their beautiful voices! Also, please send in nonperishable food items this Sunday for the Share Food With All food drive.  Thank you!!

Good Friday Worship – April 3 – Two Opportunities

Noon – We will start at noon at the Band shell at Halfway Creek Park in Holmen and walk through the community, pausing at places for song, prayer, and scripture.  We will end up at Holmen Lutheran with an indoor worship focused on the seven last words of Christ.  The worship service begins at 1:00 pm

7:00 pm – Tenebrae Service at Halfway Creek
Tenebrae means darkness or shadows.  At the final words of Jesus, our church will be immersed in total darkness.  The focus on the rising darkness reminds us of the suffering of our Lord in payment of penalty for our sins.

Building Dedication Choir

Joyful Choir

The Halfway Creek Mixed Choir and Women’s Choir will be joining forces for the Building Dedication on Sunday, May 31st at the 10:30 service.  The combined choirs will be singing two pieces and women’s choir will be singing one piece alone.  All interested singers are invited to join either one or both groups for this special celebration in the life of the congregation.  Please Contact Us if you would like to participate.

In order to encourage participation, Sunday morning rehearsal time will be shared by both groups.  Halfway Creek Mixed Choir will offer an additional rehearsal opportunity for those singers who can’t attendSunday morning rehearsals.  Rehearsals will begin after Easter Sunday.  The April rehearsal schedule is as follows:

7 pm—Halfway Creek Mixed Choir (men and women)

Sunday, April 12
9 am—Women’s Choir
9:30 am—Halfway Creek Mixed Choir (women’s sectional only)

Wednesday, April 15
7 pm—Halfway Creek Mixed Choir (men and women)

Sunday, April 19
9 am—Women’s Choir
9:30 am—Halfway Creek Mixed Choir (women’s sectional only)

Wednesday, April 22
7 pm— Halfway Creek Mixed Choir (men and women)

Sunday, April 26
9 am—Women’s Choir
9:30 am—Halfway Creek Mixed Choir (women’s sectional only)

Palm Sunday and Easter Women’s Choir

Joyful Choir

Make a joyful noise!!!  We are putting together a women’s choir to sing at 8 am on Palm Sunday and at 9 am on Easter Sunday!  Whether you are able to sing with us or not on those dates, we still invite you to join us at rehearsals for musical fellowship.  We praise God with the voices he gave us at every rehearsal!  All skill levels welcome!
