We will be welcoming David Berling, a Holmen native, to Halfway Creek on Sunday, October 19^th.  He will be giving the message at both services.  David has a very moving story to share and we encourage you to come and hear how his faith has helped him through very difficult and challenging experiences.  Here is part of his story:

On the night of April 29, 2007, while an active duty Air Force Captain, David Berling was in a private plane crash in Los Angeles.  He was the only person on board.  Ultimately, David suffered multiple injuries requiring two amputations, 28 surgeries, and a hospital stay of over two months.  He recently wrote a book, “Just Living the Dream: No Way Out But Through”.  We hope to see you on October 19^th!

Halfway Choir will soon begin rehearsing for its Christmas program.  Rehearsals will be held at 7 pm on Wednesday evenings and the program will be performed on Sunday, December 14th during worship.  Please watch the announcements for more information regarding the starting date for rehearsals.

Come and join us for a unique telling of the Joseph story, through acting and song!  Please see the A Halfway Musical flyer for more information.  We will have our traditional service at 8:00 am.

We always welcome volunteers who would like to read, assist with communion, help run the PowerPoint, and usher/greet.  If you would like to be included in the fall scheduling for any of these things, please contact us.  Confirmation families are already scheduled, so no need to reply if you are involved in the confirmation program.

We have a few dates available for ushers/acolytes.  It’s a great opportunity for your entire family to help out!  Please contact us if you are able to volunteer for one of these dates:

• March 15 – 8:00 am; 10:30 am

We are looking to enhance our worship music by using more instruments.  Any level of time commitment is welcome; every month or a few a times a year!  Any instrument is welcome as well, but here is a list of a few specific instruments we would like to add to worship:

Guitar–rock/pop, country, classical
Bass or electric bass
Percussion
Violin, viola, or cello
Saxophone
Trumpet
