Our La Crosse Area Synod assembly will gather the weekend of June 13. The theme this year is “Walking in the Word” and each congregation is encouraged to bring new shoes to donate which will be given to local clothes closets. We would like to bring at least 3 pairs of new shoes. Please reply to this email if you’d like to donate or simply bring the shoes to worship on Sunday. Thank you!

Electronic Giving is a convenient, consistent way to help our church year round. Consider scheduling a recurring electronic contribution today through Simply Giving. ShareFaith and Fitness Drawing – June
For the month of June, keep track of the days you’ve completed fitness activities (highlight, star, or cross off your calendars that you received in the most recent newsletter). If you’ve completed at least 10 activities during the month, fill out the online form or the forms at church. We will hold monthly incentive drawings and after a year we will recognize those who completed 12 months of activities!
Also, if you are already active for 30 minutes or more a day, you are eligible for the drawing as well! Simply fill out the form and indicate how you’ve been staying active. You can also fill out a form at church and place it in the white tennis shoe located on the table near the entryway. Thanks!

Building Dedication – May 31
LEGO Drive (throughout May)
A LEGO drive to benefit children in local hospitals is being spearheaded by a group called FUZZO’S FRIENDS which is “children helping children” and is affiliated with the FUZZNUTS organization. FUZZNUTS was founded by Rob Johnson after he lost his 10 year old son to cancer. Aaron Johnson was a student at Evergreen Elementary. Please help the dedicated kids of FUZZO’S FRIENDS deliver a truckload of LEGO sets or used LEGO bricks to the local hospitals. A donation box is located in the front of the sanctuary. There will also be a collection box at the outdoor viewing of “The Lego Movie” at Halfway Creek Bandshell onFriday, May 22 starting at 7:30p.
You can also learn more about FUZZNUTS at http://www.fuzznuts.org
ShareSeeking donations of hooks/hangers!
Thank you to all who have donated time and items for the building addition. To honor our 159 year history, Second Century Committee members are working with members/carpenters to repurpose the wood stairway railing, posts, balusters, and trim removed during the construction. Some of the century old reclaimed wood will be transformed into wall mounted coat racks in classrooms.
We invite everyone to bring an item which can be used as hooks/hangers on the coat racks; modern or antique hook, door handle, door knob, drawer handle. A container will be left at the church to put the items in, please include name (for thank you’s).
We are also inquiring about historical items for display and use, i.e. church pew (pre 1968), paintings, pictures, hardware, bookshelves, doors.
Please contact us if you have an item you would consider donating back to Halfway Creek or if you know of someone who may.

Thank you for supporting “Share Food With All” Mission:
Many area residents are in need of a little help; whether it’s to get to the next paycheck, provide lunches for a child, meals to seniors, or a struggling college student.
Halfway Creek Lutheran Church’s Share Food With All program is intended to help meet the basic human needs of people within our community.
Together we can assist those who have an unexpected life change; are hungry, homeless, struggling or disadvantaged. For every $10 raised, a $10 food or gas card will be purchased by Halfway Creek’s Outreach Coordinators. The cards will be given to Pastor Jean Pagliaro for distribution.
Sharing Food With All teaches Christ’s lessons of love and understanding to supporters and offers hope and faith to recipients.
