WELCA is seeking donations to be included in the Lutheran World Relief kits. These kits provide school items, baby care items, and personal care items to those around the world. You can look in your September newsletter or call the church office if you need a list of items.

We’re looking for a Halfway Creek group to form a team to run in the Color Run this fall. It will be a great event and you do NOT have to be a runner to participate. Join in the fun! Please let Pastor Jean know if you’d like to participate so we can register as a group. http://thecolorrun.com/la-
We are looking for a group of youth to sing a song with our Worship Team at our Hodgepodge Worship Service (our fall programming kickoff day) on Sunday, September 14th at 9 am

We are looking to enhance our worship music by using more instruments. Any level of time commitment is welcome; every month or a few a times a year! Any instrument is welcome as well, but here is a list of a few specific instruments we would like to add to worship:
Guitar–rock/pop, country, classical
Bass or electric bass
Percussion
Violin, viola, or cello
Saxophone
Trumpet
Have you ever considered renewing your marriage vows? There are many ways to do this, from a simple blessing to a full vow renewal ceremony. We’ve had people renew their vows after 5, 25, 40 years and many in-between years. Please speak with Pastor Jean if you’d like to consider renewing your vows – it is a wonderful way to recommit your love to each other and to God.

We will not have hot water in the church for a few weeks as we begin the construction project. However, this inconvenience can be used as an opportunity to remember those who never have hot water or who don’t have a means to use hot water to clean their belongings. For the month of August, we would like to collect donations of laundry detergent. We will then donate it all to the TLC Center (or a similar service organization) so that detergent can be given to those who utilize laundromats. Any kind of detergent is fine…pods, bottles, liquid, powder, etc. You can place your donations in the bin labelled “detergent” in the back of the sanctuary. Thanks for your generosity!

Be sure you mark down in your calendars the dates for this year’s Vacation Bible School from August 10-13! We will once again combine with Journey Lutheran church for this fun week. We use a rotation-style format and generally the stations are: Games, Food, Bible Stories, Songs, Gathering/Sending.

We will be having a float in this year’s Holmen Kornfest Parade on August 16th and we could use some help! We already have volunteers who have given us a trailer and a truck to pull the float. Here is what we still need:
We will work on the float starting Sunday, August 10.
Please call the church office if you are able to help with any of these things. This is a great way to “Reach out to share Christ with all”!
